Our mentoring scheme is designed to connect Nuclear Institute members at all stages of their careers. Whether you're a seasoned professional or just starting out, this scheme offers a valuable opportunity for both giving and receiving support.
Why Become a Mentor?

- Create your profile and select the exact areas of skill or knowledge that you can support with
- Clearly define the type of support you can offer. Maybe you have time to meet regularly for 6 months, or maybe you can only offer one-off chats on specific topics (e.g. Chartership). You decide what you can commit to and how much time you can give. You can also set the number of mentees so that you aren't approached when at capacity
- Easily arange virtual meetings on the go using the chat in the PushFar mobile app

Why Become a Mentee?
- Mentees are 5 times more likely to be promoted than those with no mentor
- Boost your confidence
- Expand your network
- Find the right mentor for you with our PushFar platform
- Create a profile using our unique matching system; input the skills and talents you're seeking support with
- Specify if there's a particular area of nuclear that your mentor should have experience in
- Define the type of relationship you're seeking (is it a 6 month stint to build certain career goals or a 1 time chat to check your Chartership application), and more.
- The platform will only suggest matches who match some or all of your criteria and only those who aren't at capacity. So potential matches should be right for you. And if you find that your mentor isn't right for you (not everyone "clicks"), all you need to do is politely end the relationship and search again
- Quickly and easily arrange virtual meetings by using the PushFar app's instant messaging function. Book in your meetings using the platfom's videoconference software or use external apps like Teams
- Log your meetings in the app and get recognition from the NI for taking part and for completing a relationship

No Experience Necessary
We believe everyone has something valuable to offer. We offer a comprehensive suite of materials to support you on your mentoring journey. Informal training events for mentors will be held subject to interest to provide first-timers and those seeking a refresher with the tools and resources they need to succeed. You can also complete this short survey to tell us what skills are important to you.
