Educational Affiliate Membership

Our Education Affiliate scheme supports educational institutions - particularly universities and FE/HE colleges - in delivering high-quality education to future nuclear professionals. It also encourages students to pursue careers in the nuclear sector by offering additional learning and development opportunities that complement their academic or vocational studies.

Benefits of becoming an Educational Affiliate (EA) include: 

Students and Apprentices

  • Unlimited Free Affiliate membership for students or apprentices enrolled in any taught nuclear-related, STEM related or PhD courses. 
  • Complimentary digital subscription to Nuclear Future, the Nuclear Institute’s bi-monthly magazine. 
  • Full access to the NI Jobs Board, featuring graduate roles, apprenticeships, placements, internships, and postgraduate opportunities.
  • Opportunities to gain insight into the nuclear industry and build professional networks, including membership of the Young Generation Network (YGN) 
  • Discounted access to a wide range of events, conferences and e-learning. 

Academics and Tutors

  • Free Associate membership for up to two nominated department tutors or academics. This does not cover the cost of professional membership. 
  • Permission to use the Nuclear Institute Education Affiliate logo.
  • Discounts on NI-run events, conferences and professional activities.
  • Opportunity to contribute to research conducted by Special Interest Groups
  • Free job postings for student internships, apprenticeships, placements, and postgraduate opportunities on the NI Jobs Board.
  • 10% discount on advertising in Nuclear Future magazine
  • Opportunity to host or attend local branch events organised by the Nuclear Institute
