Nuclear Independent Oversight Professional Qualification (NIOP)
The Independent Oversight Working Group (IOWG)* in partnership with the Nuclear Institute can offer professional recognition for Independent Oversight (IO) Professionals to demonstrate their competence in Independent Oversight.
The Independent Oversight (IO) Competency Framework developed in consultation with IO professionals and representatives of IOWG member organisations, aligns to the requirements for professional recognition as a Member (MNucI) or Fellow (FNucI) under the Nuclear Professionalism Standard.
NIOP recognition can be awarded alongside Member (MNucI) or Fellow (FNucI) to individuals who are working in the area of Independent Oversight (IO) in the nuclear industry.
*The IOWG is a sub-group of the UK Safety Directors’ Forum (SDF). They are the custodians of UK nuclear industry good practice in nuclear independent oversight, publishing and developing a Good Practice Guide (GPG), sponsoring Peer Assists of IO practice and benchmarking across the nuclear sector.
If you:
- Currently work within the independent oversight / assurance functions within the nuclear industry.
- Can demonstrate oversight knowledge and skills – as outlined in the IO Competency Framework - and wish to gain recognition.
- Wish to benchmark your abilities amongst independent oversight professionals across the nuclear industry as well as share good practice.
