Dr Rebecca Weston FNucI

Managing Director Warhead, Defence Nuclear Organisation 

Rebecca leads the Warhead Group within the Defence Nuclear Organisation in the Ministry of Defence. She is the senior civil servant responsible for provision of the critical component of the nuclear deterrent for the UK. Closely coupled and integrated with the submarine programme, this comprises a complex and highly regulated portfolio ensuring supply of nuclear and non-nuclear materials, design and unique science test and evaluation capabilities, delivering the UK’s sovereign capability while working closely with international partners. 

Prior to joining the Ministry of Defence, Rebecca was the Chief Operating Officer for Sellafield Limited, accountable for directing the nuclear operations of the Sellafield site and leading several major nuclear programmes in a complex highly regulated and unionised environment.

Paul Fyfe 

Senior Director (Regulation) and Deputy Chief Nuclear Inspector, Office for Nuclear Regulation

Paul is an executive ONR Board member and is responsible is for the efficient and effective regulation of the nuclear industry across ONR’s five statutory purposes of Nuclear Safety, Nuclear Security, Nuclear Site Health & Safety, Nuclear Transport and Safeguards.

Paul was previously ONR’s Director of Security and Safeguards. He retains responsibility for Safeguards, with security regulation having being successfully integrated into the three ‘front-line’ regulatory directorates. Paul also retains his role as a senior advisor to the International Atomic Energy Agency’s Director General on nuclear security issues.
