Forty Years of Progress in Radioactive Waste Management; The Flowers Report Revisited - Presented by: Dr John Wilkins (former Head of Harwell Site)
Lecture Synopsis: The Nuclear Power and Environment Report, often known as the Flowers Report after the chairman of the Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution which produced the report, was issued in September 1976. The report covered many important aspects of radioactive waste management. Progress in addressing the recommendations over the last forty years will be reviewed. Additionally some speculative comments will be made on what issues might be included in a similar report today.
