Technical Tour of Heysham 2 Power Station

The YGN are pleased to present another event in our Technical Tour series. We will be offering a limited number of young nuclear professionals the opportunity to attend a visit of EDF Heysham 2, the only site in the UK to have two operating nuclear power stations – Heysham 1 and 2. Delegates will be able to learn about Heysham 2, an Advanced Gas-cooled Reactor that has been operating for over 30 years. The tour will include the reactor and control room viewing galleries, turbine hall and an external tour of the site.
Schedule
- 10:30 Welcome and overview of Heysham
- 11:30 External tour of the site, with explanations of buildings as passed, and the opportunity to see inside the reactor and control room viewing galleries and the turbine hall
- 13:30 Depart site
