Hartlepool Power Station has provided low carbon electricity to the grid for over 35 years. This event shows how the AGR fleet of reactors operate as demonstrated in the simulator tour. Also, an extended plant tour visiting Pile Cab (pictured), Boiler tops, Spent Fuel Ponds, RAETP, Gas Circ Annulus, Turbine Hall, Gas Turbine House, Coolant Water Pump House and much more! The tour is succeeded with a talk regarding delivering nuclear generation, basic nuclear physics, key components of the reactor and the future options for the UK's nuclear sector - including Generation III development and SMR's.
