Cumbria Branch: YGN Speaking Competition 2025
This event will host a series of 10-minute presentations ranging in subjects across the nuclear industry, whether technical, personal or social. The winner will go on to present at the national final in September.
This competition is among carefully selected finalists from our branch application process, with applicants all under the age of 37 or new to the industry.
The Competition
The competition is open to everyone under the age of 37 at the time of the competition (i.e. those eligible to be members of the NI Young Generation Network). However, the competition is open to both members and non-members of the NI.
The Subject Matter
We encourage you to give a talk on any nuclear-related topic, whether technical, social or personal. We hope that this scope will encourage the involvement of those of you who are new to the industry, as well as the more experienced people. For those of you wishing to present a “commercial/sensitive topic”, we remind you of the importance of obtaining permission from your employer.
The Experience
The objective is to encourage you to gain valuable experience in communication skills before a live audience. Emphasis is placed on presentation rather than the overall content.
