This 3 day event will provide delegates with an insight into how nuclear waste is managed and decommissioned. This will be achieved through seminars and tours of both LLWR and Sellafield sites and a networking dinner.  

Supporting Nuclear Professionalism: Delegates will gain further understanding of the Nuclear Professionalism Standard® (Safety, Security, nuclear industry and professional responsibility). 

This will be done through informative seminars, which have a strong emphasis on Safety and Security as well as the technical tours.

Advancing Understanding: The tour will allow the delegates to appreciate the scale of the work being undertaken across the NDA sites and beyond to give insight to the waste management lifecycle

Delegates will attend the event for a total of 3 days (Monday to Wednesday or Tuesday to Thursday) depending on the tour date allocated. This is to allow for a greater number of attendees while adhering to limits of visitors for site tours.

The seminars will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, with site tours running on Monday and Thursday. The networking dinner will be held on Tuesday evening.

Please note that full details for site visits are to be confirmed and are subject to appropriate security clearance. All attendees will need to complete visitor forms for each site tour, which must be returned 25 days before the tour for non-British nationals and 10 days for British nationals.

Who should attend?

Delegates from all backgrounds and career levels are welcome including: experienced nuclear professionals, professionals moving roles or looking to specialise and early career level (graduates, apprentices, PhDs, students). 

We typically have a mix of experienced nuclear professionals, graduates and apprentices in attendance.
