YGN Technical Tour: Sizewell B and C

Led by an experienced guide, NI YGN Members will have the opportunity to witness the inner workings of the Sizewell B power station, including access into the turbine hall.
Sizewell B is the UK's most modern nuclear power station and you will learn and see first-hand how they generate low-carbon electricity. The tour will consist of a technical presentation and then a walking tour of the site covering approximately 1.65 miles. At the end of the tour there will be a presentation and lunch kindly provided by Sizewell C giving the opportunity to learn how the next generation of power station is developing on the Suffolk coast.
Agenda
09:30am – 10:00am – Arrival at Visitor Centre, Tea & Coffee provided
10:00am – 11:00am – Sizewell pre-tour briefing, PPE donning.
11:00am – 1.00pm – Tour of Sizewell B
1.00pm – 2.00pm – buffet lunch provided by Sizewell C, Sizewell C update over lunch.
2.00pm – Session ends, free to look around visitor centre exhibition or depart.
Registration
There are only 18 places available and priority will be given to Nuclear Institute YGN Members.
Photographic ID, either passport or drivers licence will be required alongside sensible flat, secure, laced up boots or trainers (covering entire foot) and clothes where the arms and legs are covered.
Once you have signed up and bookings are closed you will receive a separate email and form from the YGN to give you additional information.
This event is free, however own travel arrangements must be made.
