NI volunteers were able to meet Lord Sebastian Coe and Helen Skelton while promoting the Nuclear Institute at the Sellafield Excellence Day on 23rd October.
Lord Seb Coe spoke at the event held at the Energus Centre in West Cumbria to inspire nuclear workers with the many lessons learned and achievements made throughout his career and especially during the 2012 Olympics.
Helen Skelton also addressed the audience about overcoming the challenges of working in a team to ensure everyone's safety during her dare-devil escapades as a Blue Peter presenter.
NI volunteer and YGN member Nicole Foster met Seb and Helen over lunch and took the opportunity for a quick chat and snap with the celebs.
Tony Lawrence, Interim CEO, said: "It was great to meet Lord Coe and Helen Skelton. Helen showed a real interest in the nuclear industry. Managing to get a photo with them and Nicole, one of our fantastic NI volunteers, was an added bonus!
"It was a delight to have volunteers like Nicole and Mark Gardiner from Cumbria Branch with us at the event. Recruiting new members was made so much easier by having an existing member on hand who could talk enthusiastically and passionately about their own experience of how the NI has helped them in different ways. We're very thankful to those that helped and we're always looking for more like them to get involved in future events."
Overall the exhibition was a success for the NI in meeting new people and existing acquaintances, having conversations about what the NI can offer nuclear workers and resulted in many signing up for membership on the day.
