Interim CEO at the Nuclear Institute, Alastair Laird, has agreed to extend his time in the role until the end of 2016.
This will help the Nuclear Institute through a busy period of events, hosting the biannual NPC conference in October and the NI/NIA dinner and a robotics seminar in December.
Laird's extension also gives the Institute more time to find a permanent replacement for the CEO role, with applications now open until the end of September.
Neil Thomson, president of the Nuclear Institute issued the following statement:
I am delighted to announce the Alastair Laird, Interim Nuclear Institute CEO, has agreed to extend his interim appointment until the end of this year. This will provide the Institute with continuity over our very busy period. As a result of this we have extended the closure date for applications for the role of Nuclear Institute CEO until the end of September.
