Women in Nuclear UK (WiN UK) has announced Jack Gritt, Jacobs Regional Executive Director of Performance and Quality is to succeed Miranda Kirschel as President of the chapter.
“I'm delighted to be taking over at such an exciting time for WiN UK. Our recent merger with the Nuclear Institute means we will be able to offer our members far more, including regional networks, more of our speed mentoring sessions as well as access to all of the wider benefits of being a member of the NI. I look forward to continuing the great work of WiN in this new role and extending our reach to enable the industry changes we all support.” - Jack Gritt, incoming WiN UK president.
WiN UK was launched in 2014 and has recently become part of the Nuclear Institute, with Miranda as its first president. Jack has been a member of the WiN UK Executive Board since June 2014 and became Vice Chair later that summer.
With only 17% of the nuclear industry workforce being female, WiN UK's aims are to improve gender balance across the sector. Its activities focus on three key areas - attraction, retention, and dialogue.
Outgoing WiN UK president Miranda Kirschel MBE, welcomed Jack Gritt: “WiN UK has received tremendous support from the nuclear industry since its launch and I am delighted to have been able to take the gender balance discussion forward with the sector. Jack has been a hands-on Vice Chair who lead WiN UK’s transition to the Nuclear Institute and is well prepared to take the reins.”
