The Nuclear Institute (NI) and FindAUniversity Ltd have agreed a collaboration to offer a hub for nuclear-related PhD opportunities on the NI Jobs Board, which was launched in April.
The hub will automatically collate PhD opportunities relevant to nuclear from UK Universities. The feed is already advertising opportunities from many institutions including The University of Manchester, University of Bristol, University of Sheffield and Imperial College London.
With the nuclear industry target of 40,000 net new jobs needed by 2030, the NI aims to play a pivotal role in developing the skilled people needed for UK’s energy and national security ambitions.
Additionally, the two organisations will be extending the offering to postgraduate taught (Masters) courses to compliment the Placements and Internships already available.
Findaphd.com has been helping students find and compare PhD research projects and programmes for over 15 years. As well as listing doctoral opportunities and scholarships, it also provides a wide range of advice on postgraduate research
Rob Hardy, Managing Director, FindAUniversity Ltd said:
"One of our goals at FindAPhD is to help align passions with priorities: identifying opportunities for the prospective students in our audience to pursue projects in areas that will make a real difference to their own careers and to research in their field. The work supported by the Nuclear Institute certainly fits that bill, with a pressing demand for postgraduate level skills.
Our own extensive search data consistently highlights the popularity of research in Nuclear Physics and related specialisms and we're confident this partnership will help build connect universities with the right audiences."
Robert Gofton, Nuclear Institute CEO commented:
“We launched our new Jobs Board to connect members with high-quality, relevant job opportunities, and complement broader industry initiatives to increase the numbers of people working in nuclear.
By extending the offering to academic career pathways we’re helping to get the subject matter experts of the future into high-quality positions to support Research and Development in nuclear.
This is a great opportunity to partner with academia to upskill and reskill the new nuclear workforce. Working with the experts and FindAUniversity aligns with this ambition and gives our members a unique opportunity to easily find postgraduate opportunities in our growing sector.”
