The Nuclear Institute is delighted to announce the election of Fiona Rayment, Rebecca Weston, Clive Smith, Paul Pearson and Alastair Laird as new Trustees to the Board.
The five (profiles below) were formally elected as Trustees at the Nuclear Institute AGM held on 4 December at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London. They will join NI President Tim Chittenden, Former NI President Norman Harrison, Ali Tehrani, Chris Wiliams, Mark Lyons and Roy Manning to form the Board of Trustees for 2015.
Tim Chittenden, Nuclear Institute President, said: "We are thrilled to welcome the new trustees to the Board, it was fantastic to have them join us for our final trustee meeting of the year on Thursday. We look forward to receiving the benefit of their great experience and enthusiasm as we work together with our staff and members to lead the NI forward."
A number of vacancies were available for the elections this year, since it was decided that the number of trustees should be increased in line with the Nuclear Institute Bye Laws (Section 18). Kirk Mayer, Fred Sheil and Rick Lockwood also stepped down from the Board after serving two full terms.
Tim Chittenden said: "The NI is extremely grateful for the dedicated service of Kirk, Fred and Rick over many years. We look forward to their continued support as members and wish them all the best in their future endeavours.”
Prior to election, the new trustees were reviewed by the nominations committee to ensure that they meet the requirements of the Nuclear Institute Bye Laws, and that the correct balance of members and learned members is maintained.
The candidates were nominated by the Board of Trustees as well as the membership. As the number proposed was within the total number of new trustees allowed, there was no need for a member ballot.
