NI partners with MoD on company membership

The Nuclear Institute (NI) is delighted to be partnering with the Ministry of Defence (MoD) to offer a company membership scheme
(CMS) to the MoD Civilian Nuclear Workforce.

The scheme forms part of a wider collaboration to improve nuclear professionalism and support the NI’s charitable objectives, as well as support employees to enrol and to progress to full professional membership of the NI.

Other areas of collaboration will include: defence sector engagement with the NI events programme; Special Interest Groups; STEM outreach activities; and knowledge management and transfer initiatives.

The MOD Company Membership Scheme was launched on 21 November at the MoD Head of Profession (Nuclear) Conference in Bristol.
Following the announcement, NI stakeholder manager Andy McIvor delivered a short presentation to introduce NI membership grades, the Nuclear Delta professional standard and to explain the various ways in which MOD employees can get involved.

Speaking at the event, McIvor said: “It is really great that the MoD is partnering with the NI to develop and recognise the nuclear professionalism of their civilian nuclear workforce. This aligns really well with the NI’s objectives and also reflects the MoD’s increased focus on developing the nuclear professional community.”

To celebrate the launch of the MoD Company Membership Scheme, McIvor presented the CMS Certificate to Richard McMeekin, head of profession (nuclear).
