Following the success of national Big Bang event, the organiser now run regional fairs around the country, some of which the Nuclear Institute is involved with through volunteers at our regional branches.
This is key at a time of growth for the nuclear industry, with new power stations planned for the UK, offering a wealth of opportunity for a new generation of scientists, engineers and other professions to be involved in the work.
The Nuclear Institute has an active educational and public outreach programme, of which our presence at the Big Bang Fair is a part. Other activities include working with organisations, such as NSAN (National Skills Academy for Nuclear) and the ECITB (Engineering Construction Industry Training Board), to promote education and training schemes and scholarships. For more information on our activities visit the news section of our website or subscribe to receive our free monthly e-newsletter.
