YGN International Trip 2025 - Finland
The YGN International Technical Tour in March 2025 is a five-day trip to Finland. Building on last year’s success in Canada, the tour will include technical presentations, site visits, and cultural engagements.
Participants will explore Finland's nuclear industry, including the Olkiluoto III Nuclear Power Plant, the Geological Disposal Facility and the developed nuclear supply chain. The program also features meetings with Finnish nuclear stakeholders, coordinated with the British Embassy in Helsinki.
Itinerary
Monday 7th April 2025 - Day 1: Arrival to Finland.
Tuesday 8th April 2025 - Day 2: Seminar day – a series of technical presentations, networking opportunity with Finnish YGN. This day will be held in Helsinki.
Wednesday 9th April 2025 - Day 3: Trip to Okiluoto Island. ONKALO geological repository site and Okiluoto nuclear power plant technical visit.
Thursday 10th April 2025 - Day 4: Cultural and sightseeing day in Helsinki
Friday 11th April 2025 – Day 5: Departure back to UK.
Funding and entry requirements
Hotel, breakfast and tour covered by sponsorship donations. Travel, subsistence and spending money to be covered by attendees.
Valid VISA requirement for Finland.
