Approved Apprenticeship Programmes
The Nuclear Institute plays an important role in conjunction with the National Skills Academy for Nuclear (NSAN) in ensuring that rigorous standards are met throughout the industry with our Approved Apprenticeship Programme Process. This process helps ensure that members know where to go for quality training and schemes.

Route to Professional Accreditation and Chartership
The Nuclear Institute offers great networking and professional development opportunities, including a route to chartership. We hold licences from both the Engineering Council and Science Council, which means that the Nuclear Institute can register suitably qualified and experienced engineers, to become Chartered Engineers, Incorporated Engineers, Engineering Technicians and Chartered Scientists.

Our work in education and training involves a variety of services, events and resources for everyone from young people in schools and universities, to professionals, and the general public. We provide information on a range of subjects, such as advice on career pathways and the discussion of technical issues which can advance nuclear science, engineering and technology, basic information to help public understanding of nuclear sciences and their impact on society and the environment.

Supporting STEM
Our outreach activities include STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) engagement in primary, secondary and technical education environments, attendance at engineering and science fairs such as the Big Bang Fair, and a hugely successful Speaking Competition for young professionals through our Young Generation Network.
